- The Louisiana Justice of the Peace who refused to preside over an interracial marriage saying he believed they harmed children raised in mixed families has resigned. (Yea!)
- Another example of a society making terrible decisions based on a general lack of total knowledge...a malaise all societies suffer from. About 1,500 years ago, the South American civilization called the Nasca mysteriously disappeared. Looks like they cut down too many of their own trees...killing off their food supply. Lessons to be learned.
- Maybe Olympia Snowe read some of my recent posts, because she just took a shot at soon-to-be 2012 presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty for suggesting moderate Republicans must heed the conservative base and back down. Maybe this conservative thing will backfire...
- It looks like Maine may be the first state to actually vote for gay marriage
- Never been a big fan of the Germans, what with the Holocaust and all...but, German Chancellor (sounds like a Star Wars character) Angela Merkel is pushing for climate change legislation and action.
Welcome to My Blog
In the marketplace of ideas that is the internet, I am simply another merchant trying to peddle my wares. I could give you my credentials but in cyberspace credentials are really not important, are they? Admittedly, I am not really a misanthrope, though I do have a lot of contempt for humanity in general. But, I cannot lie and say I feel nothing for humans, because deep down I am pulling for the entire species to succeed; to do the right thing; to evolve. I suppose it is the constant disappointment that has led me to post my thoughts, opinions, feelings, and sociological theories. I invite your comments, arguments, and personal experiences...
